A note from Eddie:
I've been riding Harley's since I was a teenager. My father rode a Duo-Glide, the first one in Richmond County, NC. When I told him I was going to buy my first bike he said, "that's great, just don't bring it home if it's not a Harley". In the twenty-five years since then I've ridden about 250k miles.
My first bike was a 1979 Fat Bob Superglide (AMF). I rode that bike for 30k miles and replaced the drivetrain three times myself - one transmission every 10k miles.
I was a charter member of the Raleigh H.O.G. group, along with my good friend, James Young. I rode a lot with James - whenever the sky was grey I'd look at him and he'd always say, "it never rains on Harley riders," and off we'd go. Well, after a long ride home from the beach in the pouring down rain with no windshield and no gear, I decided you're never too young to ride an "old-man's bike", and traded in my Fat Bob for a 1951 Duo-Glide.
I rode the Duo-Glide for 100k miles and rebuilt two engines. I also had a 1984 Electra Glide that I rode for 40k miles (good bike).
When I met my wife Tina and started traveling again I bought a 2000 Road King that we rode for two years and 43k miles until our wreck in Sturgis.
I currently ride a 2004 Screaming Eagle 103 Electra Glide with 130hp at the backwheel that we've put 33k miles on since getting it in 2005, and still rolling.
I also have a 1997 Bad Boy Springer, and Tina has a 2006 Softail Deluxe.
Tina and I have ridden 2up about 75k miles in the last six years - we've been coast-to-coast, down to the Keys, and up to Canada. In Sturgis in 2003 we were run over by a little old lady in a Suzuki Samarai. We were able to walk away but the bike wasn't so lucky - it wasn't able to make the return trip home and had to be shipped.
I had so many problems over the next few months trying to get the bike repaired correctly that I got fed up and decided to one day build a shop that people could trust and depend on - and now here I am doing just that.
I don't like being broken down or having leaks on the ground, and know you don't either. So come check us out and see what we have to offer.
Roll on,
Eddie
