Under Construction - Fall 2007
Gaston's Garage is locally owned and operated by Gaston "Eddie" Wilson Jr., and his wife Tina Thomson.
Gaston's Garage is one of a kind - it is neither a chain nor a franchise.
A note from Eddie:
"Gaston" is a name that has been passed on in my family from father to son for generations. My father gave it to me, and I passed it on to my son. It's a family tradition. My father passed on more than his name to me: he taught me the importance of treating people with fairness, respect, and honesty.
When he got out of the Army after WWII, my father started a business working on cars and other equipment (small engine repairs) out of his garage at home. I remember being as young as 7 years old helping him fix things. I might have only been able to hand him tools at that age, but it was the beginning of where I am today.
My father believed in fixing something if it could be fixed, rather than throwing it away and buying something new. To him that was not only wasteful, it didn't make good money-sense. He taught me to fix a part if it could be fixed (like rebuilding starters and CV joints) before replacing it. By doing this, I learned to achieve a sense of accomplishment in a job well done, and how to also save my customers money.
I learned from my father to service whatever I drive, ride, or pull, as it is needed so I won't find myself stuck on the side of the road, or paying more later because I ignored my vehicles. I follow this same advice when I work on your vehicles because I want them to be as safe and reliable as possible.
My father passed away in 1994, but the values and work ethic that he taught me are still going strong. I want my training and experience to help you in the same way that it has helped me. That's what I mean by "old school values".
